What is a "FAQ"?
FAQ stands for "Frequently Asked Questions", it's a collection of questions and answer on a specific topic, in this instance about this site.

What is this site?
This is a collection of different resources put together to help fellow musicians play the music of Procol Harum.

Who did this site?
Organist Jack Ponissi started the site in 2010 and has done most of what you can find on it.

Some chords don't follow music theory! Some partes are really hard to read!
When I started the site back in 2010 I didn't know much of music theory and in fact I could read a score at all, therefore all the partes were written in C, with accidentals specified for each note and with GarageBand, which I was using at the time, deciding when to use sharps or flats. This led to some unual stuff such as having for example an Eb on a B chord.
In recent years, having studied, I'm trying to follow music theory and write actually sensible parts, still many parts haven't been updated yet.

I spotted an error in song x/that chord is wrong!
Please mail me and I'll look into it.

Why Procol Harum song x is not included?
Just haven't got around to finish doing it yet! Quite probably plan to do it someday.

I know the chords for a Procol Harum song that's not on the site, can I contribute?
Absolutely, please mail me.

I have a Procol Harum book with scores, are you interested in it?
If you have a PDF of it, yes. I've seen many around and while most of those contains a lot (and I mean a lot) of errors, a few are exceptionally well done.

Can you do Procol Harum song x? I need it tomorrow.
Well, I can't probably add it to the site by tomorrow but I might still be able to help you, as I have a lot of material half done, either on my hard drive or in my mind.

Do you include songs from the solo careers of Gary Brooker, Matthew Fisher,  Robin Trower or Keith Reid?
I do, look into the "extra" folder at the bottom of the page.

Can you add this song from The moody Blues? What about Jethro Tull?
No, this site only covers Procol Harum related material.

The arrangement for some of the songs are not what I hear on my LP! What's up with that?
I usually follow the most recent live arrangements and point it out when they are different from previous ones. Very occasionally, there are also indications regarding the SormoRock arrangements.

Why your lyrics are different from the ones on other sites?
Because on other sites they're wrong! A few years ago I started to notice that most online lyrics for Procol Harum songs contained errors, often minor, at times important. In fact, even some material published on paper, such as the words printed on the Missing Persons 2021 EP, contains errors! Since then I've started double checking the lyrics against as many versions of the songs I could, trying to ensure they are 100% correct. Since I wasn't doing this since the beginning, the lyrics on older pages may still contain errors coming from other sites.
Still, if you find an error in my pages pleas contact me - I can do those as well!

What is SormoRock?
SormoRock is my band, currently the only band in Europe to play this repertoire. See the site and you'll be able to listen to us!

Does Procol Harum tribute bands exist?
Very few. See SormoRock for one.

Is there a community of Procol Harum fans online?
Yes, there is a quite active FaceBook group.

Why there is so little regarding organ playing on the site? I can't figure out The Signature on my own!
Being an organ player myself, my priority is giving my fellow musicians an easier way to play with me and I don't need to write parts for myself. Anyway, mail me and I might be able to help you.

Do you have a score for A Whiter Shade of Pale?
Perhaps. I can probably send you something.

Are you officially linked in any way with the band?
No. I did get to see them a few times and to perform with Geoff Whitehorn and Dave Ball, but I'm not officially involved with them.

The graphics of this site looks awful!
What graphics? ;) I prefer to concentrate on the contents for these pages.

Why is this site a subdirectory of another?
Why not? I have no commercial aim for it, it is resources offered for free to fellow musicians.

I understand you do this for free, still I'd like to thank you. Can I donate some money?
Yes, you can donate via PayPal here.
